Possessive Pronouns - Vocative Case

The table below shows the forms of Possessive Pronouns in Vocative Case (Wołacz). The forms are the same as in the Nominative Case.

The table below shows the same forms, but the rows and columns that have repeated forms have been collapsed.

The columns in plural number changed order, so that singular neuter forms and plural other than masculine personal forms could be merged.

Notice that the singular third person has more than one English translation. Why? Because we use his and her for objects too. In Polish language every noun has a gender and this gender doesn't match the English gender. For example książka(book) is feminine, so we will say her instead of its. Compare the English and Polish possessive pronouns in the sentences below:

Zgubiłem dzisiaj moją komórkę, ale na szczęście widzę jej lokalizację na mapie. O, jej baterio, nie rozładuj się!	I lost my phone today, but fortunately I can see its location on the map. Oh, its battery, don't run out!
Magdzie został ostatni żeton. O, jej ostatnia szanso, pomóż jej wygrać!	Magda got the last chip. Oh, her last chance, help her win!

Zgubiłem dzisiaj mój telefon, ale na szczęście widzę jego lokalizację na mapie. O, jego baterio, nie rozładuj się!	I lost my phone today, but fortunately I can see its location on the map. Oh, its battery, don't run out!
Markowi został ostatni żeton. O, jego ostatnia szanso, pomóż mu wygrać!	Marek got the last chip. Oh, his last chance, help him win!

Alternative forms

There are also alternative forms of my and your (singular) possessive pronouns, but only for forms that contain -oj-.

These alternative forms are used rather in poetry than in everyday speech.

You can create them by removing

, for example moja becomes ma or twoje becomes twe.
