Prepositions followed by Locative Case

Locative Case is used among others after the following prepositions:
przy
  • during
  • at
  • next to
w(e)
  • in
  • at
na
  • on
  • at
po
  • after
  • over (the surface of)

  • about
  • at (a time)
  • with (a feature)

przy + Locative Case

English equivalents of przy + Locative Case:
  • during
  • at
  • next to
Examples
Porozmawiajmy o tym przy kawie.Let's talk about it over coffee.
Oddam ci książkę przy następnej okazji.I will give you the book the next time.
Dobrze się czuję przy tobie.I feel good with you.

w(e) + Locative Case

English equivalents of w(e) + Locative Case:
  • in
  • at
This preposition may also connect with:
  • w(e) + Accusative Case
Examples
Jestem w domu.I'm at home.
Moi rodzice są w pracy.My parents are at work.
We Wrocławiu jest dużo firm informatycznych.There are many IT companies in Wrocław.

na + Locative Case

English equivalents of na + Locative Case:

Examples
Dzieci bawią się na dworze.The children are playing outside.
Na zewnątrz pada śnieg.It's snowing outside.
Na drodze zdarzył się wypadek.An accident happened on the road.

po + Locative Case

Examples
Po podwórku biega bezdomny pies.A homeless dog runs around the yard.
Zrobimy zakupy po drodze.We will do shopping along the way.
