Masculine singular nouns in Accusative Case take the following endings:

Some nouns may have irregularities in their stem during declension.

Used with inanimate nouns. They have the same Singular Accusative and Singular Nominative form.

ending usage

Used with animate nouns.
There are many inanimate nouns that also use this ending. Especially nouns that belong to these categories listed below might use it:
  • names of dances
  • names of brand names
  • names of currencies
  • names of some flowers
  • names of some fruits
  • names of some vegetables
  • names of space objects
  • names of sports
There are also nouns that don't belong to any particular category but also use this ending. You must memorize these exceptions.
