Verbs followed by Dative Case

Dative Case is used among others after the following verbs:
pokazywać imperfto show
pomagać imperfto help
pomóc perfto help
dawać imperfto give
kupić perfto buy
wysyłać imperfto send
wysłać perfto send
brakować imperfto miss, be lacking

pokazywać + Dative Case

Examples
Dziecko pokazało mamie swój rysunek.The child showed his mother his drawing.
Pokaż mi co tam masz.Show me what you got there.

pomagać + Dative Case

Examples
Pomagam siostrze w zadaniu domowym.I help my sister with her homework.

pomóc + Dative Case

Examples
Pomogliśmy tacie naprawić samochód.We helped dad fix the car.

dawać + Dative Case

Examples
Daję ci moje słowo.I give you my word.
Dasz siostrze pograć na komputerze?Will you let your sister play on the computer?

kupić + Dative Case

Examples
Kup mi coś dobrego!Buy me something good!
Kupiłem dziewczynie kolczyki.I bought earrings for the girl.

wysyłać + Dative Case

Examples
Co miesiąc wysyłam właścicielowi pieniądze za wynajem pokoju.I send the owner money for renting the room every month.

wysłać + Dative Case

Examples
Wyślemy wam jutro odpowiedź.We will send you an answer tomorrow.

brakować + Dative Case

The verb brakować requires the Dative Case for the noun describing who is missing something.
Examples
Brakuje mi Ciebie.I miss you.
Zabrakło nam kilku punktów.We ran out of several points.
The verb brakować requires the Genitive Case for the noun describing what is missing.
Examples
Brakuje mi Ciebie.I miss you.
Zabrakło nam kilku punktów.We ran out of several points.
